I was born and raised on the rugged western side of Ireland in County Mayo.
Growing up in this tranquil setting of the countryside, I have always had a love of nature and have thoroughly enjoyed the adventures of the great outdoors.
I have played traditional Irish music since childhood, starting in similar footsteps to many Irish children in mastering the tin whistle first before progressing onto many other instruments.
Music is inherent to my family with my father being an accomplishment musician on many instruments, although it his button accordion which he enjoys the most. Over the years I have built up quite a collection of instruments, but my own personal musical abilities are best demonstrated on the low whistle, the guitar and also the majestic Uilleann Pipes.
I have worked with timber throughout my life. I have harnessed my skills from the masters and teachers that I have worked under, and I have watched my father, and grandfather work with their hands and enjoyed the many things that were made for us as children, and also in the many furnishings we have in the family home. Working with wood is quite unique as each individual piece is crafted and handled many times before it is ready to be part of the finished article.
In this way, I get to see the character of each board and how I can utilise it to capture and enhance the beauty of the wood for each piece that I create. I work to the highest of standards of craftsmanship, which this takes hours of time, care and patience to ensure that the prefect piece is created just for you.
